1. Rules of the Northeast Megabucks Tournament (NMT), stated herein, will Govern all participants. Rules of the USBC may apply at the discretion of the Tournament Director (TD). The NMT’s TD will have the right to resolve all questions or disputes that may arise during the events. All decisions shall be final and binding.
  2. Eligibility – NMT is open to all bowlers except bowlers that have 2 or more national PBA, PBA50 or PWBA tour titles in the past 10 years. Smart scholarship funds will be available.
  3. Bowling balls are not allowed to be used prior to worldwide release dates.
  4. Attire and courtesy – casual attire except for main event finals On Sunday November 26th. PBA/PWBA style dress code will apply for finals except name on shirt is not required but encouraged. No Brand limitations.  TD reserves the right to disqualify participants not abiding by the dress code for finals. Lane courtesy will be one lane throughout all events and the finals.
  5. Divisions for main event: scratch divisions age 35 and under, age 36-54, age 55 and over/women of all age, handicap 215 and under 80% with a max of 30 pins. 215 and under and women can declare other divisions prior to the event starting. For the handicap division we will use the highest Winter league average for the past 3 years to determine handicap. If participant does not have a winter league average summer league average will be considered. Participants holding a PWBA/PBA membership currently or within the past 3 years will not be permitted to bowl in the Handicap division.
  6. Qualifying for the main event finals will be determined by division and each participant must declare the division they will participate prior to the event and must stay in that division for entire event. Finals will also be contested by division and final shoot out will consist of the winner of each division.
  7. The event will be conducted on short and long patterns for sweepers and moderate length for main event. Patterns are displayed on main page.
  8. Cashing and squad cuts – 1 in 7 in each division will make the finals per squad and 1 in 4 will earn an Instant Bucks for $100.00. Instant Bucks will be paid out at the conclusion of each squad. Participants can bowl unlimited entries and earn Instant Bucks an unlimited amount of times. There will be an at large cut to preserve the 1:7 ratio for the finals which will consist of the combined entries and scores from all 12 squads per division.  All ties to make finals or Instant Bucks will be determined by highest game of that squad.
  9. Finals for the main event will be contested in an eliminator style format per division per pair to determine the four division winners followed by a one game shootout to determine final positions.
  10. Eliminator format – the high qualifier for each division will receive a bye to the title match of their division. The second and third qualifiers will receive a bye into the top 5 of the eliminator for their respective division. Eliminator rounds will be conducted on a per pair basis; that is, if a pair has 3, 4 or 5 bowlers the top two scores on that pair will advance. Eliminator rounds will be conducted until the top 2 remaining and are joined by the 2nd and 3rd qualifiers for each division. These four roll off down to two, then to one, and then roll off against the high seed of the division to determine the division winner. All eliminator matches are by random pair draw.
  11. Example. A division has 27 qualifiers based on the 1 in 7 ratio for qualifying including the at-large. The bottom 24 qualifiers are randomly assigned to pairs with 3 bowlers on them and they roll off, eliminating the low score per pair. The next round will have 4 bowlers per pair, eliminating two bowlers. This continues until 2 bowlers remain. They are then joined by the 2nd and 3rd qualifiers and the four then roll off down to two, then the two roll off to one to determine who will bowl the high qualifier for the division to determine the division winner.
    1. Note: The TD reserves the right to have the first eliminator round be a random draw (i.e. not by pair) to cut to an exponent of 2 for subsequent rounds.
  12. Once the four division winners have been determined there will be a one game shootout to determine final positions. In the shootout the handicap division winner will receive 10 pins handicap and the 55 & over/women division winner will receive 6 pins handicap.
  13. The 2 sweepers will be contested with the handicap division bowlers getting 10 pins per game and the 55 & over/women bowlers getting 6 pins per game. There will also be an optional 10 game prize fund for the combined total of both sweepers.
  14. If a participant withdrawals from a squad in the main event prior to the squad, they will receive a cash Refund minus $5.00.
  15. Check in for squads are 30 minutes prior to scheduled squad and bowlers will start to be called from wait lists roughly 15 minutes prior to scheduled squad time. If you have pre paid for a squad and your not checked in within 15 minutes of squad time you may lose your reservation to a participant on the waiting list.
  16. Decisions by the Tournament Director are final including but not limited to eligibility of players, equipment, conduct and other factors that may lead to a player being disqualified or refusal of entry.
